I am very excited for the opportunity to work here at Madison Elementary. Since 2008 I have been part of the Twin Rivers family, and enjoyed my roles as teacher and administrator.  As a graduate of UC Davis, I recognized early on that I wanted to be in a position to help others.  I got my chance to do just that when I taught English at Rio Linda High School.  From there I worked at several schools such as Don Julio Junior High, Martin Luther King Junior High, Oakdale K-8, and Hazel Strauch Elementary.  Throughout those experiences I was humbled by the passion, skill, and determination of the teachers and staff.  Seeing that dedication and its positive impact made it easy for me to come to work and do my part to support students, staff, families, and communities.  I am committed to student achievement, and realize that I need to continue to learn and get better each and every day if I want to make a difference here at Madison.

My family has been a part of this educational journey from the start. I owe so much to them for their support and advice.  My wife and I have been married for 17 years, and are blessed to have two kids ages 9 and 14.  I enjoy sports such as tennis, soccer, basketball, golf, snowboarding, baseball, and more. While I do like to win, (who wouldn’t?) I appreciate the experience of athletics as it teaches important lessons in sportsmanship, collaboration, resiliency, and preparation – all traits we want to see develop in our students.

I look forward to this upcoming 2017-18 school year, and partnering with you to provide the best school experience for your child.

Sincerely,

Michael Amparo
